Helpful Resources for Families
Behavior Analyst Certification Board: The BACB establishes professional standards and certification requirements for behavior analysts. This resource helps families understand ABA credentials and professional ethics.
Autism Speaks: provides helpful toolkits and guides for families, including resources on diagnosis school supports and navigating autism services.
Florida Diagnostic Learning and Resources Systems: FDLRS provides support services, training, and resources to families, educators, and school districts to help improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities. Services include parent support, professional development, instructional resources and assistance navigating special education services.
Child Find: is a federal requirement under the Individual with Disabilities Act (IDEA) that requires school districts to identify, locate, and evaluate children who may have disabilities and need special education services.
Center for Autism and Related Disabilities: CARD provides free consultation, training, and resources for families and professionals supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder throughout Florida.
Family Network on Disabilities: A Florida organization that helps families navigate special education services disability rights, and community resources.
